Projection has become increasingly popular for music artists on tour. Artists now days use the projection for video interludes before a certain segment of the concert. Lady Gaga has used the projection frequently throughout her tours. I like the way in which she has used Video art alongside projection. When performing the track Dance in The Dark, Gaga uses a remixed song with a large-scale projection covering the whole stage. The video jumps and is distorted at different speeds replicating the song. After a short while the singer continues the song whilst standing behind the screen a variety of lights are behind her blowing her silhouette to a large size on the screen. This form of silhouette shadowing, is almost like the hand puppetry seen. I think this style which incorporates these aspects is very effective, instead of a pure video, reality and shape distortion is added, which also towers over the audience giving a sense of power and domination.
This is being taken a step further with holograms being introduced, now a musician can preform with another artist without them being there, a whole video can be projected in 3D onto a stage, and it looks real. Mainstream popularity was gained from the performance of Snoop Doggand the passed Tupac. With talks of Michael Jackson performances also this will only increase in popularity and it will be interesting to see how this develops and how others can showcase their own work in new and boundary pushing ways.

I usually will not post a lot of fashion pieces. However this dress and the moment it was captured has a tranquil feel. The layering of the dress along with the feathering floating is calming and pure. The appearance and density of the dress creates textural feel whilst the slimming fit on the torso creates a natural feel as though the model and dress grew together. I could imagine the dress being exhibited in a pressurised capsule with air vents causing the feathers to move, obviously the stronger the air the more issues with visibility of the dress, however I think this would be more interesting and powerful to showcase than on a typical mannequin. The dress could also work in this manner in a designer or high end fashion store maybe in popular shopping zones, e.g. Oxford Street.

I found this image on Tumblr. I love this picture, I don't know the purpose, it could be costume design, fashion, editorial , etc. However, I find the picture to be very calming, the soft almost icy colours used within the feathers, are harmonious to the autumnal colours of the hair and other feathers. This with the pale almost frozen expression and pigments on the skin create a sleek and smooth mood to the image. I could see the image being used for a fashion shoot, with a natural beauty landscape, maybe an Alaskan or Icelandic landscape. The way in which the feathers protrude in different directions is no accident in my opinion, I think there is a strong reason for this, maybe to cover a greater area, or to show rapid and uncontrollable growth?
